Hello all! As I've promised you guys last time, today I'm going to blog about nail polish and nail arts.
Nail painting is something i personally enjoy doing. I can say it's a hobby. I thought of making it a profession, but it won't be easy. There are a lot of nail spa in Batam and opening a new one will not gain much income. So I'll just keep it as a hobby. I'm only 16 anyways. Maybe in the future I'll really consider it as a career. Maybe.
Well, I first had my nails decorated when I was 6 or 7. It was Chinese New Year and my mom bought nail art pens. I can say it's a pen because it isn't. It's like a tube, with a needle sticking out. And in the needle is a tube. So if you press the bottle (the bottle is soft plastic so it's squeezable), the nail polish will come out and make fat drops. It makes a small dot,but it fills the whole spot and doesn't bleed after. She would make flowers with different colors. It's always flowers because that's the easiest thing to do.
When my sister was in 7th or 8th grade (she is 3 years older than me, so at that time i was in 5th grade or something), she was the one into nail polish. But she didn't go deep into it like me. She just paints her nail with one uniform color and make it really neat and look nice.
Then! When I was in 9th grade, I was the one into it haha! I don't know why, I was just suddenly liking all this nail polish and all up til now (I'm in 12th now!). I can't really remember how it started. Maybe I was watching some nail art videos on YouTube and just fell in love with it. Just maybe. I had the basics to start with (which is base coat and top coat. And by the way, base coat is used on the first step to protect your nails so no thin layers of your nails will come off. And top coat is used after your nail polish dry to add a uniform glaze and last longer. So I suggest you invest your money in this two stuff. Especially base coat!), but I only had a white polish and it was actually starting to dry so it was kind of sticky (and if that happens, throw the whole bottle away. You can't use it again because it won't dry easily and even if it dries, it will take a whole night while youre sleeping. And when you wake up, you can see the texture of you bed sheet on your nail polish). Then I told my sis I want a black colored polish. She was really against this idea. She die die also disagree one! (She disagrees, that's all) but I bought it, still.
Then there it starts! It was my first time doing nail art and it was the splash design. It's easy! Paint a base color of your choice. Let's say I'll use white as the base color. Then choose another color, red. First step is to put a quite big drop of nail polish on your nails but make sure it won't bleed and cover your whole nail. Give space so you can drag out the nail polish. Take a toothpick and drag out the nail polish. Like the Nickelodeon logo. But not to much. 3-6 should be enough. Ending it with a small dots around it so it looks like a splattered paint. Get the idea? I'll give an example of my first one. Pardon the bad quality. My old phone didn't have an autofocus.
Okay. That's the first one. The black base was the one i bought regardless of my sister's objection hahaha.
In the last posts i posted pictures of the n art designs i made. I'm going to repost and tell a little story in every picture.
This is my second one. I used the crack polish aunt gave me. I have two colors. Red and grey. Now I hardly use them. Well, if you don't know how to use it. First paint a color for the base coat. Oh, and remember to must always always apply a good quality clear base coat first! After it dries, quickly make one thin coat of the crack polish and then just let the polish do the trick. You'll notice that the crack polish will soon shrink into a bark-like pattern. Then just apply top coat.
Moving on, my first tribal design!
Not only sushi. You'll notice that there's onigiri and a dazzling-eyed-rossy-cheeked wasabi! I enjoyed doing this design. Regardless of the time spent to watch the tutorial video over and over and over again.
I didn't liked it so i did another one.
This is my first nail art with a 3D object. (Or was the first one captured, I don't know). I used a nude color for the base and it almost matches my skin color. Amazing. And if the notice, the rhinestones on my fingers was not shiny and all, it was because i had too much glue on the. It bleeded and the rhinestone was sinking in the glue, thus covering the shiny rhinestone. That's pretty much why.
My first nautical nail art! I have done three times until now. Just did a new one this afternoon. It was my first experience with a small brush. Didn't have a striper back then.
This is the one i did today. Not with a striper. Just a long, thin brush.
Nowadays I experiment on more techniques using sponges. I did ombré. I bought a lot of colored and shaped rhinestones. New glitter polishes and so far i have only three 😐. I did leopard, little green man from toy story, cupcakes, cherries, random polka dots and so on.
Maybe next time I'll post about my happy meal toys. Hmm. Maybe. Just maybe.
Okay! Signing out!
